What is colic? Colic is defined by the rule of threes: A baby cries for at least three hours a day, at least three days a week, at least three weeks in a row. Even if your baby does not meet this definition, the following treatments are still beneficial. This list is by no means exhaustive, but these are the easiest and most effective ways of surviving colic.
If you had a cesarean section, showering may be a little painful for the first few weeks. It can be difficult to shower without letting the water hit your incision site, but holding a small washcloth over your stitches may help with the discomfort. Try to shower before your husband goes to work so that he can help you with watching the baby. That way, you can take the time that you need to get comfortable and go slowly. Remember to take your time. Don’t try to be superwoman and rush through your shower. You have just had major surgery, and it’s okay to take your time.
I went out and bought a brand new, top of the line, Graco BABY PRODUCT REVIEWS. It looked adorable, had soothing lullabies, and more bells and whistles then I could ever understand. I loved it, my baby did not. Swings can be an absolute godsend, especially if you have a colicky baby, but you don’t want to spend $100 plus dollars for something that will sit next to the treadmill in your basement that you will be using to hang clothes on. My recommendation, buy a nice used swing for under $20. Places to find the swing, your local thrift shop, church flea market, craigslist, or a good garage sale.
Your baby will pick their own favorite from among his or her toys. He or she will pick the sleeping toy with which they feel most comfortable. Once you baby has attached to a toy, go buy four or five of the same toy. Alternate the duplicate toy with baby, so that they all get the same degree of wear. A new toy will not replace a comfy, loved toy that your baby has slept with for months.
The comfort of some of the swings out for little ones is really wonderful. Most swings come with plush comfortable seating and many are also safer with including a five point harness system as well. This means a lot when you are using the swing at all day outings.
Your baby may simply need to feel your body against theirs. Lay on your bed or your couch and have your baby set on top of you. Lovingly rub their back as you hold them against you.

Around the world and probably since the beginning of time, Mothers have tied a piece of cloth around their bodies and used it to keep baby close. Some of these Moms don’t even use diapers…but they wouldn’t think of raising baby without a sling!
