When I started out building websites and blogging, I used free themes. At first, I thought free were great. As I started building my sites and wanting more capability, I grew frustrated.
Frankly, I was rather surprised at the effectiveness of article writing. It seems like such a benevolent little creature. You write about your own experiences on the subject of your site or blog, keeping your articles short, around 500 to 800 words, although some of my best performing articles have been longer, about 900 to 1200 words.
Once you get familiar with a premium developer, using their other themes becomes very easy. I’ve noticed this with many developers. At first I spend some time figuring out the backend however once I become proficient with one theme by a developer using other themes by that WordPress blogs developer is easy.
When it comes to listening to music, I get bored with listening to the same old tracks. The beauty of Last FM is that it “learns” what you like, and creates your own personal playlist based on your tastes So listening to music stays fresh. Does use up bandwidth due to streaming, so be careful how much you use if when not connected via wi-fi.

I like forum support with my themes. Most free themes don’t come with support. You’re on your own. I like the fact I can jump into a forum and get answers to my questions.
Optimize each blog post for a low competition long tail keyword phrase – before you make a blog post take some time to do a little keyword research. Visit the Google AdWords Keyword tool and use this to find a long tail keyword phrase that has a low amount of competition. Ideally this phrase will have just a few hundred monthly searches rather than a few thousand monthly searches. Use a different keyword phrase for every blog post that you make and put the keyword phrase in the blog post title and 2-3 times throughout the post.
