Some people say that the resume is THE most important part of the job changing process, while others say it’s the cover letter and even others say it’s the interview. The truth is that they are all right and wrong!
So why don’t they? One reason is: as they keep pushing ‘bodies’ through their revolving door, those ‘bodies’ surface and interview many candidates. And even though the new recruiters often leave before they’ve been able to benefit from their efforts, the staffing agency profits from their work in progress. The company is able to place the new candidates into positions, temporary or permanent, and a whole new cycle begins.
Yes, searching for the hidden job bank is work. Sometimes we refer to it as the “mind-ladder” of those bank directors, business executives, company owners, vice Presidents or even the custodian who knows where the jobs are. All action begins with a thought and that’s where you come into the big picture.

This ridiculous business model seems to be built upon pure laziness, and the completely upside-down notion, or rationale, that it is easier to find new customers than it is to maintain existing ones. This is nonsense! The opposite is true. Most seasoned business and marketing professionals know this universal axiom: It is at least four times more costly and more difficult to sign up new customers that it is to maintain existing ones!

If you want to change sectors, change careers, If you are gifted and lack experience, if you have a real desire to shift direction, to expand your skill set by acquiring experience in a new environment; a headhunter or recruitment agency may not be the best way to find a new job and you would be better to focus your efforts on other job search tools and techniques.
